- Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
- Calibrates and aligns equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance activities.
- Checks sizing of components and parts.
- Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
- Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
- Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
- Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
- Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
- Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
- Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
- Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
- Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
- Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.

- Associate degree in an Instrumentation or Electrical field or four years of experience in an electrical or instrumentation role or four more years of Military experience in an instrumentation or electrical role.
- Previous experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams and specifications.
- Previous experience Conduit bending and installation.
- Previous experience troubleshooting motors, motor controls and associated equipment at various voltage levels.
- Previous experience measure with and operate electrical test equipment to perform diagnostic checks.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- Lift up to 55 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand 50% of the time.
- Walk for extended periods of time.
- Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
- Work in tight and closed in spaces.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator.
- The ability to physically operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to successfully complete required training.
- Experience working in an industrial or chemical environment.
- Industrial Maintenance and or New Construction experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP and standard Microsoft software (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, etc.).

About You and This Role:
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an I&E Technologist in Freeport, Texas.
You will provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. You will maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. You will be required broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
