- Assist with the overall management of the Poly Pantry operations including effective utilization of department software systems
- Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, development, and supervision of Poly Pantry staff
- Manage multiple projects and meet required deadlines
- Develop, coordinate, and manage changes to the staff schedules for all Poly Pantry Assistants
- Assist with development and implementation of operational strategies
- Lead all policy enforcement and handle all incidents that may occur
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain a high standard of customer service to all patrons of the Poly Pantry
- Assist in the development of the outreach and referral strategies to link students to additional on and off campus resources
- Track student usage, eligibility requirements and inventory management for reporting purposes
- Process donations and preparing monthly reports
- Track and prepare reports to maintain inventory, purchasing, and receiving.
- Assist in the planning and execution of programs and events related to food insecurity and student health
- Attend and assist in development and execution of orientations, trainings, and student development
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships with external agencies, within, and with the campus community including students, staff, and alumni
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to lead staff that can be demonstrated through previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to provide friendly and pleasant customer-oriented service and maintain a professional work conduct
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with diplomacy and in a professional demeanor
- Ability to make independent decisions and make recommendations
- Ability to adhere to work rules, follow routine verbal and written instructions, use time effectively and work productively with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to operate a computer workstation using word processing, spreadsheet, and other computer applications
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population and campus community
- Knowledge of food insecurity issues at CPP and previous experience with basic needs efforts, preferred
- Three months of customer service experience preferred
- Experience tutoring or peer-counseling, preferred
- Retail experience in market environment, preferred
- Ability to satisfactorily complete a background check (including a criminal records check)
Work Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week; shifts based on operational need of the organization. This position will be working on campus.
OVERVIEW
Established in 1963, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a non-profit corporation guided by a student board and managed by full-time professional staff. ASI is a part of the Cal Poly Pomona Division of Student Affairs with a dashed reporting line to Administrative Affairs. ASI serves the entire campus population, including over 26,000 students, by providing opportunities for student engagement, student employment, and a multitude of programs and services such as recreation and wellness, student union and activities, student government, and childcare. ASI operational support areas include human resources, financial services, information technology, facilities management, and marketing. The Poly Pantry serves to provide access to food and basic necessities, by connecting students impacted by food insecurity, to campus and community-based resources, thereby maximizing student success.
POSITION DEFINITION
Under general supervision from the Poly Pantry Manager, the ASI Poly Pantry Supervisor provides programmatic oversight and supervision while directly supporting the Poly Pantry Manager in program and service development, implementation, and overall department operations. The Poly Pantry Supervisor will assist with the overall management of the Poly Pantry day-to-day operations and safety, as well as the Poly Pantry Assistants. The Poly Pantry Supervisor performs routine and complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge, prior relevant experience, and moderate independent judgment and decision-making.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY
Employment with ASI is open to any Cal Poly Pomona student who is eligible to work and has the legal right to work in the United States. In addition, student employees must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 units (undergraduate) and 4.0 units (graduate), international student employees must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) and 6.0 units (graduate) at the end of the add-drop period. Student employees are required to have a minimum overall and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0 and be in good academic standing with the University. Individuals enrolled only in Extended University are not eligible for hire. Exceptions to the unit load requirement are allowed during the summer term and for students who have applied for graduation for the current term.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear; manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and verbal communication; use of office equipment: telephones, calculator, copier and fax. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
