Job Description
- Req#: 8028
- Hands-on development activities at our Technical Center or in our manufacturing plants
- Coordinate and perform independent and team experiments in laboratory and plant settings
- Presentation of project results and findings to leadership upon completion of internship
- Potential for significant travel to manufacturing plants and fill locations could be required (50-70%)
- Fundamental technical understanding of packaging materials, package manufacturing processes with exposure to industry and market drivers
- Expand critical problem solving and decision make skills through development and execution of qualification plans
- Improve communication skills with interaction of cross-functional teams and leadership alignment
- Better understanding of engineering organization
- Development & qualification of new packages for blue-chip customers
- Assessment of secondary packaging performance for our products
- Assist with product qualifications measurements and data collection activities at the plants
- Support Root Cause and Correction Analysis for products with defects
- Research & Benchmarking studies to identify “white space” for future packaging development opportunities
- Level: Engineering or Technology program with a minimum of (1) year of academic experience
- Capable of working in both individual and team settings
- Seeking highly energetic, creative, and motivated individuals
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Software: Excel, CAD, FEA, Minitab
- Comfortable problem solving electrical and mechanical systems
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant
- Understanding of ANSI standards
- Understanding of SPC
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be able to travel within US
- Be an active student in an engineering or technology program
- Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future work authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
- Pass a drug screen and background investigation

What you can expect:
In the Package Engineering intern position, you will contribute to tasks focused on specific project initiatives, such as package development and testing support, results evaluation, conducting plant trials, developing pallet patterns and coordinating with manufacturing plants and suppliers.
