Job Description

- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Pool Supervisor and Food & Beverage Manager, when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction
- To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
- To make the Pool Supervisor and Food & Beverage Managers aware of all guest comments and complaints.
- To be thoroughly familiar with the menus, service standards, and procedures.
- To follow specified procedures to provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to hotel guests by the pools, including answering telephones; taking and delivering orders; preparing and presenting guest checks; and providing correct change for cash transactions.
- To follow specified procedures to properly set-up pool and beach stations and perform side work, on a daily basis.
- To ensure the cleanliness and condition of all glasses, dishes, and utensils used in pool-side service.
- To keep the pool and beach areas clear of used glasses, dishes, utensils, and towels at all times.
- To set up beach with chairs, umbrellas and towels and to ensure that guests are provided with clean towels and ice water, as needed.
- To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.
- To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all cash, and credit transactions, including the proper use of Micros computer systems.

The Pool Server's Essential Purpose is to be responsible for providing efficient and professional pool-side service of food and drinks to hotel guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must have minimum one year experience in food and beverage service. Must be familiar with California liquor laws. A valid and current Food Handler’s Card and California Responsible Beverage Service Certification is required.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Learns quickly. Safety minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Strong verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks moderate to long distances throughout shift. Constantly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over moderate to long distances. Bends, stoops, pushes, and lifts to perform routine job tasks. Must be able to work well under pressure. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
