      Exciting full time permanent opportunity to join the Health Promotion team to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in western Sydney!

      Position Classification: Health Education Officer Graduate
      Remuneration: $69,050 - $100,547 per annum
      Hours Per Week: 38
      Location: North Parramatta (Cumberland Hospital)

      Where you'll be working
      Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.       What you'll be doing
      This role will support the WSLHD Health Promotion Smoking and Vaping Prevention portfolio to achieve outcomes in tobacco and e-cigarette related projects. You will be involved in a range of initiatives and contribute to the reduction and prevention of tobacco and e-cigarette related harms.

      The Smoking and Vaping Prevention team is looking for a professional with a health or related background area who ideally has:

      • A strong understanding of health equity and the social determinants of health in contributing to population health outcomes.
      • Population health program management skills. Knowledge of effective health promotion and prevention strategies to address tobacco and e-cigarette use.
      • Experience working with priority populations, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

      1. Relevant tertiary qualifications at graduate level or above in: population health, health promotion, public health, or other relevant areas.
      2. Project management skills including demonstrated ability to plan, implement, evaluate and disseminate a population health project report on the outcomes of a project.
      3. Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain partnerships with community, government and business organisations and agencies, and facilitate collaborative action.
      4. High level written and oral communication skills; computer skills; and negotiation and interpersonal skills.
      5. Demonstrated ability to analyse, understand and work with, and within, a range of systems, sectors and agencies to implement change.
      6. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a cross cultural context, particularly with members of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse communities.
      7. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
      8. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
