At Devoted Health, we’re on a mission to dramatically improve the health and well-being of older Americans by caring for every person like family. That’s why we’re gathering smart, diverse, and big-hearted people to create a new kind of all-in-one healthcare company — one that combines compassion, health insurance, clinical care, service, and technology - to deliver a complete and integrated healthcare solution that delivers high quality care that everyone would want for someone they love. Founded in 2017, we've grown fast and now serve members across the United States. And we've just started. So join us on this mission!

      Job Description

A bit more about this role:

We’re on a mission to change healthcare — how it’s paid for, delivered, experienced. We want to put people center stage, not process or profit. We are guided by a deep belief that every person on Medicare should be treated like we would treat a member of our own family: with loving care and a profound commitment to their health and well-being.

That’s why we’re gathering a whole bunch of smart, big-hearted people to create a new kind of healthcare company — one that combines compassion, health insurance, clinical care, and technology seamlessly.

We want to throw the long ball with people we love for a cause we believe in. Life is short. Join us.

The Manager for Population Health is responsible for supporting the identification of opportunities to improve clinical outcomes for Devoted’s membership; partnering with clinical, operations, and technology teams to prioritize and build those enhancements; overseeing the operations around select clinical outcomes; and then tracking our progress and helping our teams do excellent work at scale. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Population Health.

      • Some of the questions you’ll help drive answers to include:

        • Are we on track to meet our clinical quality and care outcomes? How can we improve existing or develop new workflows and processes to ensure we meet our clinical quality and care outcomes?

        • How do different interventions compare in their success at addressing preventative care gaps?

        • How are we doing at addressing related clinical opportunities?

      • Some of the clinical interventions you may help develop and improve include:

        • Care support by doctors, pharmacists, and care coordinators to members after they’ve had a fracture leading to a hospital event

        • Multi-channel communication strategy to help more members get colon and breast cancer screenings

        • Workflows for enabling teams to address related clinical opportunities, and how those pathways vary based on where the member is in his/her care journey and the capabilities of the Devoted personnel working with the member.

      Key attributes of success:

      • You are energized by the challenge of learning new work, collaborating on cross-team projects, solving complex challenges, and getting things done quickly that make a difference in our members’ lives.

      • You have excellent attention to detail and follow through. You are able and willing to jump into the weeds, including manual review of data that informs workflow improvement or new insights into performance.

      • You have strong technical and numerical fluency. You’re able to independently perform analyses to help solve complex challenges. You’re able to draw conclusions from these analyses.

      • You enjoy developing and executing on plans that get us from problem solving to full implementation, bringing along all stakeholders in that process.

      • You are an effective verbal and written communicator, and can clearly articulate your approach and assumptions while thinking through a problem.

      • You are able to collaborate with and learn from diverse teams ranging across technical (like product managers, software engineers, data scientists) to clinical (with nurse practitioners, care coordinators, and member outreach specialists and others) colleagues.

      • You are able to thrive in a startup environment which means being a proactive self-starter; a transparent communicator about your work, what’s going well, and what’s not; and thoughtful about adapting to and improving the processes by which we work as we scale.

      Desired skills and experience

      • Work experience in highly analytical environments, preferably in healthcare or demonstrated interest in the area and a track record of learning about new industries (such as in consulting).

      • Two or more years of proven success in an operations, management, or consulting role.

      • Demonstrated excellence in data-driven work. Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets. The ability to self-serve data with SQL queries and/or Looker is a plus.

      Salary Range: - $74,000 - $145,000
