Job summary
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a clean and safe environment for our service users. The individual is responsible for undertaking general portering and caretaker duties. The post holder is expected to operate in line with Gloucestershire Health and Care (GHC) NHS Foundation Trust values and demonstrate a high level or professionalism and customer service when carrying out this role.
Main duties of the job
Patient movement to appointments ensuring their dignity and safety is maintained at all times.
Check, monitor gas pressures and contents and record, order medical gases according to correct Trust procedures, report any defects to Facilities Supervisor.
Undertake driving duties, stores deliveries and equipment removals
Receive" goods in" and make deliveries - coordinate all deliveries to ensure the best use of resources
Responsible for waste management on site, collection and storage of waste from locations.
Timely transportation of post, parcels and medical records to agreed points
Assist with the removal of curtains as part of the curtain change programme.
Regularly transport bagged dirty linen from all areas to the appropriate collection area
Complete property inspections, checking for damage, rectify basic faults e.g. replace ceiling tiles, unblocking toilets. report results using the Estates Fault Reporting portal,
Conduct basic PPM, tasks such as emergency lighting, fire alarm testing, fire door checks and PAT testing for patient property
Clean equipment, for example wheelchairs, trolleys - this is not an exhaustive list
Regularly clean and tidy building entrances and grounds. Undertake gritting, removal of leaves and snow in priority areas
Remove unwanted furniture/bulky items from the building and dispose of appropriately using manual handling equipment where appropriate.
