      Job Description

      The opportunity

      The Portfolio Analyst will report to the Manager of Portfolio Analysis and will work closely with other team members across the Agriculture Client Account Management group as well as other partners throughout the organization. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting Portfolio Managers in the overall development and implementation of client Agriculture investment strategies. This will include financial analysis of existing and hypothetical client portfolios with the dual goal of improving portfolio performance and ensuring the objectives and constraints outlined in client Investment Management Agreements are met.


      Responsibilities

      • Assist the Portfolio Manager and Senior Portfolio Analyst with all client portfolio analytics

      • Evaluate and calculate historical and projected portfolio performance

      • Evaluate acquisition and disposition opportunities

      • Assist and coordinate in the writing of portfolio and investment commentary and discussion and analysis that accompany financial reports for assigned portfolios

      • Prepare materials for client portfolio reviews, and participate, with Portfolio Managers, in the presentation of materials in client meetings

      • Respond to client questions and requests for analytics and data

      • Assist Senior Portfolio Manager in the development and implementation of acquisition funding strategies, including: preparing investment offering materials and operating and financial model development

      • Monitor global agriculture markets and economics

      • Improve analytical processes and reporting capabilities

      • Model and review property budgets and long-term management plans

      • Other ad hoc duties may be assigned as necessary to assist with client portfolios as well as all aspects of the client relationship

      What we are looking for

      • Understanding and appreciation of fiduciary responsibility

      • Commitment to SRI/ESG ethics

      • 0-4 years of related work experience. Additional experience is desirable.

      • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, forestry, or agriculture

      • Graduate degree or equivalent experience in business, economics, finance, forestry, or agriculture is desirable.

      • Progress toward or plan to attain CFA or CAIA designation is desirable.

      • Familiarity with investment reporting and performance measurement is desirable.

      • Excellent analytical skills, and comfort performing analyses with various systems that house investment data. The ability to enhance and improve such systems is a plus.

      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

      • Excellent presentation skills

      • Client service orientation. Prior experience working with clients will be an advantage.

      • Ability to work at all levels in an organization, have excellent relationship building skills, and be a great teammate.

      • Organizational skills and efficiently lead several diverse tasks at the same time to meet deliverables.

      Salary & Benefits

      The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

      Primary Location

      Boston, Massachusetts

      Salary range is expected to be between

      $42,750.00 USD - $71,250.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
