- Support research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator and senior research staff.
- Engage in data collection, specimen handling, and participant interaction.
- Contribute to impactful cancer research in a collaborative lab environment.
- Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical and translational research.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Hands-on research experience.
- Work or student experience of any duration in a healthcare related setting or research setting, which may include student assignments.
- BLS certification, phlebotomy skills, and Spanish language fluency.
- Collect and prepare research data and specimens.
- Perform participant interviews and administer questionnaires.
- Support biospecimen collection and documentation.
- Attend research meetings and maintain required certifications.
- Assist with data entry, chart abstraction, and research documentation.
- Participate in minimal risk participant recruitment under supervision.
- High school diploma/GED with one year of relevant work experience is required.

NTRO Research Assistant II
Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an innovative team and make an impact on the lives of those affected by cancer? We are looking to hire an individual to participate in challenging and meaningful work to support the non-therapeutic studies under the research portfolio of Dr. Vinci . The project focuses on using advanced technology (i.e., augmented reality via smartphone) as an innovative adjuvant to smoking cessation treatments. People seeking to quit smoking through the Florida Quitline will be referred to the study, and participants will use an augmented reality smartphone application to help reduce urges to smoke.
Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including public health, psychology, biological sciences and more. There are opportunities for those who have worked in other areas of public health as well as those who are looking for a new and exciting opportunity.
These positions typically offer a Monday through Friday schedule, though some require occasional evenings and weekends. Moffitt offers training and orientation.
