      Post-Doc Responsibilities:

      The goal of this Post-Doctoral role will be focused on the development of engineered nanosystems, specifically new vaccines adjuvants to targeted to a specific tissue or cell population, driving a next generation of delivery solutions for vaccines.

      Within Basic Pharmaceutical Science Drug Product Team in Research & Development, you will design, formulate, and characterize novel target moieties and delivery systems that will allow to:

      • Select the most promising chemical entities to enable targeted delivery and immunomodulation

      • Develop ways to incorporate them in complex nanoparticles

      • Understanding key attributes that relate to formulation performance via in vitro/in vivo studies

      In this context, you will have the possibility to play a key role in the development of a new generation of adjuvants, bringing your own ideas and expertise to develop engineered nanosystems for precise delivery. You are expected to participate in the conception, design, implementation, and interpretation of scientific and technical data, applying the knowledge and skills you have gained from your previous experiences. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to be part of the Drug Product team, surrounded by a group of excellent scientists dedicated to meet the needs of the patients, and working to improve their quality of life.

      Basic Qualifications and any foundational experience required for this role are:

      • PhD in (Bio-)engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Life Sciences, with proven experience in conjugation chemistry and lipid nanoparticles formulation

      • Experience in analytical techniques used for nanoparticles characterization (e.g, size, polydispersity index, surface charge, stability and degradation),

      • Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey scientific messages across multidisciplinary functions.

      • Fluent in English

      • The ability to deal with complexity, strong problem-solving and self-directional abilities.

      • Ability to work in an international environment, with a strong team spirit.

      To be successful in the role, this person must have the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data; must be comfortable conversing with opinion leaders regarding technical information; possess a good balance of creative, analytical, and strong communication skills; ability to be productive and successful in an innovative environment and he/she must be a Team Player.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Knowledge of lipid-based nanosystems, and formulation via microfluidics

      • Experience in vaccines, adjuvants, or immunotherapy

      • Experience in design and implementation of in-vitro and/or in silico screening of chemical entities to define Structure-Activity Relationship and underlying biological mechanism of action

      • Experience on in vivo biodistribution studies
