- Assist in grant writing and procuring funding
- Author research papers for publication in reputable journals and conferences
- Assist with lab management activities
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong publication record in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Visualization, or Visual Analytics (ACM CHI, IEEE TVCG, and similar venues)
- Demonstrated experience with visualization software toolkits (e.g., d3) and front-end development (e.g., React)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Mobile application prototyping (Android/iOS) including wearables/smartwatch
- Project leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with VR/AR (Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality)
- Experience with integrating AI/ML with interaction design

The Faculty of Science at Ontario Tech University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) in the area of Computer Science - Human-Computer Interaction (Information Visualization and Visual Analytics). The position is offered for 12 months, preferably starting in May 2024, subject to funding approval, and may be extended contingent upon research performance.
Position Overview:
Ontario Tech University's Visualization for Information Analysis Lab (Vialab) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Human-Computer Interaction with a focus on Information Visualization and Visual Analytics. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with a focus on areas such as Contextual Visualization, Interaction Techniques, Wearables, Immersive Visualization, and AI Interaction. The successful candidate will be working with Profs. Christopher Collins and Ali Neshati.For more information about Vialab, please visit vialab.ca.

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC.
