What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, model, and implement quantum algorithms for Benchmarking and Quantum Certification
- Collaborate with domain scientists across the laboratory and university partners
- Conduct research and development related to national security missions, including nuclear non-proliferation and chemical threat recognition
- Publish outcomes of research in peer-reviewed venues, including conferences and journals
- Utilize scientific programming to support quantum information science projects

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s degree received within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university
- Strong background in quantum computing and quantum information processing
- Experience in scientific programming, particularly in quantum error correction and numerical simulation
- Evidence of verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with quantum transpilation to specific quantum hardware

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Programming proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python for data analysis)
- Experience with Quantum Simulation environments (e.g., Qiskit or PennyLane)
- Familiarity with quantum noise models
- Masters in Computer Science with a 3.0 GPA or higher
