      Job Description

      Job Description and Responsibilities:

      This is a full-time, 12-month position with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. The position is housed within the Department of Poultry Science at Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will contribute to research focused on poultry nutrition, nutrition management, and flock health. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Staying current with literature relevant to poultry nutrition and health.
      • Designing and conducting research trials with meat-type and egg-type chickens.
      • Leading and assisting with laboratory analyses of biological samples in alignment with research objectives.
      • Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presenting at national and international conferences.
      • Supervising undergraduate and graduate students involved in related research projects.
      • Contributing to the preparation and submission of competitive grant proposals.
      • Other duties as required.

      Required Education and Experience:

      • Ph.D. in Poultry Science or a related field.

      Preferred Education and Experience:

      • Ph.D. in Poultry Nutrition.
      • Experience in conducting poultry research trials.
      • Demonstrated record of scientific publication.
      • Experience working in multidisciplinary research environments.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders such as poultry producers and industry professionals.
      • Ability to travel as needed for field-based or on-farm trials.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

      Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Experience in website development and resource dissemination.
      • Previous involvement in outreach activities, event organization, or summit coordination.
      • Experience with modeling tools.
      • Familiarity with poultry feed formulation software for research applications.
      • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and use of analytical tools such as gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
      • Strong skills in managing and interpreting production-related data.
