      PURPOSE

      Postdoctoral Researcher will be focusing on distributed control of multirobot systems and multisensory synthesis. The role involves developing advanced algorithms for multirobot coordination and creating models and metrics to evaluate team performance. The researcher will also innovate in information processing and fusion to enhance system capabilities.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      Research : 70%

      • Develop and implement advanced algorithms for autonomous vehicles and robotics.
      • Conduct innovative research in machine learning, real-time decision-making, and sensor fusion.
      • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers.
      • Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present at conferences.

      Support : 25%

      • Mentor and guide graduate and undergraduate students.
      • Facilitate the dissemination of courses/workshops among students.

      Other : 5%

      • Support STEM programs.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Ph.D. in Robotics, Control Systems, Computer Science, or an autonomous systems related field.
      • Strong publication record in relevant areas of autonomous systems.
      • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB.
      • Experience with machine learning frameworks and simulation tools is desirable.
      • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Ph.D. in automation, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
      • Hands-on experience with multi-robot systems (UGV, UAVs, etc.) and sensors (LiDARs, cameras, etc.).
      • Excellent programming skills and software development using ROS (Robot Operating System).
      • Experience in structural analysis using finite element methods (FEM). Knowledge of Abaqus.
      • Data-driven emulating strategies, such as surrogate models and machine learning.
      • Experience developing digital twins.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills.
      • Evidence of publications demonstrating a strong mathematical foundation in algorithm development, AI, and modeling for robotic systems.

      SALARY: $4,583.34 MONTHLY ($55,000.00 ANNUALLY, APPROXIMATELY)

      • This is a grant funded position and is contingent upon funding
