- The postdoctoral fellow’s primary duties will be to perform research. This will include preparing samples; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data; building, modifying, and/or maintaining instrumentation; writing publications and grants; and presentations at conferences.
- They will also contribute to maintaining the laboratory operations, supporting other researchers in the group, and collaborations with outside research groups.
- It may also include mentoring of researchers at all levels (graduate, undergraduate, etc.) and other educational and outreach activities.
- Ph.D. in chemistry upon hire.
- Experience in MS, lipids, membrane proteins, and/or mass spectrometry.
Postdoctoral Research Associate I (Multiple Positions) Posting Number req13043 Department Chemistry & Biochemistry - Sci Department Website Link https://cbc.arizona.edu Location Main Campus Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The Marty laboratory (http://marty.lab.arizona.edu/ ) in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Arizona is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to perform research using mass spectrometry (MS) to study interactions of biomolecules with and within lipid membranes. This position will involve development of new biochemical methods and technologies to study proteins, peptides, and lipids, especially employing MS, nanodiscs, and other membrane mimetics. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to get new projects off the ground, and extra consideration will be given for candidates with experience in MS, lipids, and membrane proteins, especially with expertise in mass spectrometry.
