Review and synthesise existing literature, including grey literature, to identify key findings and gaps.
Contribute to refinement of project development, goals, and outputs.
Identify appropriate data sources for secondary analyses, including ability to undertake data management, preparation, and analyses.
Design and undertake data collection including identifying and recruiting appropriate research participants, designing interview instruments, coding and analyses.
Produce quality research outputs including journal articles and other appropriate refereed publications, research reports, policy briefs, working papers and conference publications and presentations.
Contribute to research translation through engagement with policy makers and other relevant stakeholders, research participants, community groups and the academic community.
Develop a coherent research program and an emerging research profile.
Participate in grant writing to secure additional funding if opportunities arise.
Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching and courses if opportunities arise.
Contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students (as appropriate).
Demonstrate citizenship behaviours that align to the UQ values.
Show leadership of self and an ability to work independently and in teams.
A willingness and enthusiasm to participate in all aspects of the Laureate project.
Effectively and efficiently manage internal service roles and administrative processes as required, including participation on relevant committees as appropriate.
Actively pursue and develop external links and partnerships by cultivating relationships with industry, government departments, professional bodies, and the wider community as appropriate.
Completion or near completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline..
An emerging profile in research.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presentations at conferences.
Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities
For one position - ability to analyse large-scale longitudinal survey and administrative data, cross-national comparisons, data manipulation, and the use of visualisation and data dashboards to summarise and communicate results. An ability to analyse administrative data is highly desirable.
For one position - ability to undertake qualitative research, including collecting and analysing in-depth data from interviews or focus groups, and the use of visualisation, communication and translation techniques for communication of findings.

About This Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity available for two highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join a research team being established as part of an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellowship. The team is led by Professor Janeen Baxter and is based in the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) at The University of Queensland. The successful applicants will report to and work closely with Professor Baxter to undertake an innovative new research project to understand and reduce gender inequality. The Laureate project aims to provide a new insights into gender inequality to provide innovative explanations and new strategies to reduce persistent gender inequalities, particularly in relation to household work and care.
The successful applicants will work in a high achieving, multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment in ISSR. ISSR is the administering unit for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course (Life Course Centre), directed by Professor Baxter. The Laureate project will be aligned with the Life Course Centre enabling the postdoctoral fellows to work alongside a strong group of researchers investigating aligned topics and participate in professional development and mentoring opportunities provided by the Centre and ISSR.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position commencing on 3 June 2024 for up to 3 years at Academic level A (two positions available). The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,324 - $102,945, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,470 - $120,445 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.
