Job Description
- Req#: JR-202403376
- Design, develop and improve Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) (passenger car, truck, and sport utility vehicle) high voltage power converters including On-Board Charger Module (OBCM) and Vehicle to Load Inverter Module (V2LIM) technical requirements.
- Perform and optimize power converter design definitions, electrical designs, vehicle integration, and Worst Case Analysis (WCA), including evaluation, analysis and integration of power converter requirements including physical dimensions, thermal properties, coolant requirements, bi-directional converter
- Alternating Current (AC) Direct Current (DC) and DC-DC input-output power and current levels, thermal derating strategies, high voltage ripple, transient performance, inrush current limit, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Ensure OBCM and V2LIM adhere to BEV program Bills of Design (BODs), Bills of Material (BOMs), and cybersecurity, environmental, safety, and electrical guidelines including GM Worldwide Engineering Standards (GMW) 14082 Electrical hardware requirements and guidelines, GMW3172 General specification for electrical/electronic component Analytical/Development/Validation (A/D/V) procedures for conformance to vehicle environmental, reliability, durability, and performance requirements, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) guidelines.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field, and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer, Lead, or related role.
- Must also have experience with: performing or optimizing power converter electrical designs, including analysis and integration of power converter requirements including physical dimensions, bi-directional converter Alternating Current (AC) Direct Current (DC) and DC-DC input-output power and current levels.
