      Job Summary

      Responsible for maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation. To maintain several types of control systems to meet the specific energy generation requirements of the Luminant system in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.

      Job Description

      Key Accountabilities:

      • Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant equipment

      • May direct the work of employees and contractors

      • Understands and is able to ensure proper operation of the plant. May be responsible for plant oversight in the absence of management

      • Repairs and calibrates equipment

      • Troubleshoots equipment and systems, may be asked to train other employees in troubleshooting techniques

      • Develops and implements plant operating procedures

      • Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safe Work Practices

      • Actively trains others in area of expertise

      • Performs technical work or analysis of processes in areas of expertise

      • Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle and how it functions

      Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

      • Minimum four years of related experience

      • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent

      • Position includes operating, evaluating, maintaining, and repairing (low, medium, high voltage) breakers, switch gear, switch yards, motor control centers, AC & DC circuitry, electrical disconnect, transformers, lighting panels, HVAC UPS

      • Evaluate, maintain, and repair electrical equipment & controls, relay protection schemes, electrical monitoring equipment, various operating gauges, instruments, PLC’s and alarms

      • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, process control equipment and instrumentation

      • Perform trouble-shooting activities on all plant electrical equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in systems, read and interpret online diagrams, electrical protection scheme, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor service manuals

      • Participate in major maintenance projects, including equipment overhauls and removal and replacement of major units and parts. Inspects and monitors work of third-party contractors during major equipment repair or installation

      • Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways at elevations of 80 feet and more; wear respirator

      • Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communications skills

      • Must pass POSS/MASS pre-employment test

      • Perform other tasks as assigned.

      • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, email, maintenance management
