- Design, analyze, and optimize DC-DC power conversion circuits for complex networking products, adhering to strict design specifications and requirements.
- Develop analog power designs for high-speed networking applications, taking into consideration factors such as signal integrity, noise, and power integrity.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including system engineers, firmware engineers, and PCB layout designers to ensure seamless integration of power management solutions into overall product designs.
- Conduct circuit analysis, simulation, and modeling using industry-standard tools to achieve optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of power conversion and analog power designs.
- Perform design verification tests (DVT) and design validation tests (DVT) to assess the functionality and performance of power management circuits in high-speed networking environments.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware-related issues during the development and testing phases, proposing effective solutions to ensure successful project completion.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics, analog design techniques, and emerging technologies related to DC-DC power conversion and high-speed networking.
- Participate in design reviews, offering technical expertise and recommendations to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to select and qualify components for power management and analog power circuits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the documentation of design specifications, test plans, and technical reports related to power conversion and analog power designs.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of professional experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on DC-DC power conversion, analog power design, and high-speed networking.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, including power semiconductor devices, switching power supplies, and power magnetics.
- Proficiency in analog circuit design for high-speed applications, considering aspects such as signal integrity, noise, and power integrity.
- Experience with PCB layout and design best practices for high-frequency power and analog circuits.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, and VLAN.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power electronics and networking, such as UL, CE, FCC, and IEEE.
- Proficient in using circuit design tools (such as Altium Designer, OrCAD) and simulation tools (such as LTspice, PSpice).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with power management and analog design for complex networking products, such as routers, switches, or data center equipment.
- Knowledge of high-speed signaling techniques, transmission line theory, and equalization techniques.
- Familiarity with FPGA-based designs and working with high-speed interfaces like DDR, PCIe, USB, or Ethernet.
- Understanding of thermal management techniques for power electronics and high-speed networking systems.
- Experience in the specification, analysis, design, and validation of DC-DC converts for high speed networking products.
- Strong background in schematic capture, selection of passive components, and layout of sensitive circuits in a PCB, and simulation of annotated netlists.
- Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
- Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
- Evaluating and proposing forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management.
- Knowledge and experience in performing Power Integrity analysis and design tradeoffs
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
