      PR and Communications Manager

      Department:

      Wexner Center for Arts | Communications and Marketing

      • Builds and manages relationships with local and state media outlets
      • Facilitates media interviews with center leadership, curatorial team, and other center staff as needed
      • Manages relationship with external PR partner to secure and track metrics of national and international media coverage
      • Tracks and reports media coverage for key stakeholders
      • Partners with Director of Marketing Content, Social Media Manager, and Digital Content Editor to develop consistent messaging across owned channels
      • Supports the center’s internal communications efforts
      • Co-manages crisis communications with the Head of Marketing, Director of Marketing Content, and university colleagues
      • Produces original and news aggregate content for the center’s blog

      Minimum Required Qualifications
      Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience required.

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field and/or equivalent experience
      • 4+ years related experience
      • Excellent writing and editing skills
      • Proven track record of developing productive relationships with media
      • Understanding of the changing media landscape
      • Strong communication and teamworking skills
      • Creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving
      • Experience in digital communications including social media
      • Experience with managing crisis communications
      • Strong organizational skills; some project management experience preferred
      • A background or interest in the arts is preferred
      • Agency experience is of interest
      • Successful completion of a background check required prior to start date

      Additional Information:

      The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 69,400 - 91,250 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
