      The EO Communications team is responsible for creating and managing earned media opportunities and output, which enhance the brand’s reputation and presence across the European region.

      We have a critical job to manage risks affecting Samsung and supporting all business units to manage those issues. Being a part of this team means you get exposure right across the business and have to quickly understand new products, technologies and be on top of the fast moving regulation in the industry.

      The PR and Events team combines earned media and influencer relations, experiences and events as well as trade shows where Samsung is an exhibitor. We work across all products, from Smartphones, TVs, Washing Machines and Vaccum Cleaners. We are present in big cultural moments like the Olympics, major blockbuster film releases, gaming, music, filmmaking and home design and connected living.

      Role and Responsibilities

      Your key responsibilities

      • The responsibility of this position is to proactively and reactively protect and enhance the brand reputation.

      • The objective will be to:

        • Lower the level of negative sentiment and increase the level of positive sentiment in earned media

        • You will build relationships with key European media titles to understand media trends and be ahead of potential issues

        • Work on proactive storytelling projects to bring brand stories to life in earned media across Europe

      • Working daily with 17 European markets to understand the major issues in the region and supporting those teams to manage and decide what actions to take

      • You will work closely with the global business teams and the regional teams to understand product developments and issues

      • You will craft statements and Q&As to respond to media and external partners when needed

      • You will be data savvy and have some experience working with PR measurement tools to monitor and measure brand reputation

      What we need for this role

      To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

      • You should have media strategy experience and understand when and what kind of response is required to deal with issues

      • You need deep PR expertise and a curiosity about the craft of being a public relations expert

      • A passion for brands, and a keen curiosity about how brands develop, their evolution and what impacts trust and reputation (positively and negatively)

      • You need to be a teammate, someone who can adapt to work up and down within an organisation and be willing to share success with a team

      • You might have agency, or in-house experience or a blend but need to demonstrate you understand the way in-house communications works and demonstrate how you will adapt to an in-house role.

      • Ideally you will have some understanding of consumer technology brands, mobile, entertainment and/or home appliances

      • Ability to understand the cultural naunces across Europe and be able to adapt your thinking to develop and implement plans accordingly

      • Experience working in PR (agency or in-house) is encouraged

      What does success look like?

      • Success will be the ability to pick up and improve on exisiting processes, connect with collaborators and team members across the region

      • In the first 6 months you will get to understand all of Samsung’s core technologies and develop a keen understanding for the types in inbound enquiries

      • You will be a part of the team driving major product launches and delivering brand level campaigns across Europe

      • Develop thoughtful media strategies to protect and build brand trust
