Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care to the practice population with focus in the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long term conditions and acute problems. This includes screening, assessment, treatment and education and taking an active role in supporting the practice to maximise achievement against local and national targets in respect of the GMS contract and Enhanced Services.

Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversee and manage chronic disease clinics, ensuring appropriate care and referring patients to GPs when needed.
Conduct cervical smears, and contraceptive reviews.
Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for signs of infection.
Implement and oversee vaccination programs for both adults and children.
Perform ECGs.
Support the IPC lead in implementing infection control policies, audits, and compliance across the practice.
Implement and promote health and wellbeing programs, including smoking cessation, weight management, and disease prevention.
Assist in minor surgeries, provide routine nursing care, and support the team during clinical emergencies.
Maintain accurate and up to date clinical records in line with practice protocols.
Work closely with the clinical team, ensuring smooth patient care, and collaborate in safeguarding and substance abuse referrals.
Coordinate travel services and provide vaccinations and advice to patients traveling abroad.
Maintain and control drug stocks and resuscitation equipment.
Ensure treatment rooms and stock rooms are stocked and organised.
Undertake clinical waste management duties.
Engage in educational meetings and participate in weekly/monthly practice meetings.
Prioritise and manage workload to maintain high-quality care.
Perform any other delegated duties as required.
