      Job summary

      Whittington Moor Surgery is a busy yet welcoming practice, and we are excited to be expanding our Nursing Team. We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join us on a permanent basis, working 25 - 30 hours per week. This opportunity has arisen as we look to the future, supporting team growth and continuity of care.

      Main duties of the job

      We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience in General Practice who can thrive in a busy, varied, and sometimes fast-paced environment.

      As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting our Nursing Team including HCAs and Phlebotomists and in working closely with our GPs and wider Primary Care colleagues. Your role will cover the full scope of Practice Nurse duties, including:

      • Chronic disease management leading reviews for A sthma, COPD, Hypertension and Diabetes

      • Treatment room responsibilities wound care, cervical cytology, immunisations, travel vaccinations, and health checks

      • Health promotion and lifestyle advice supporting patients to take an active role in their own health and wellbeing

      • Clinical support providing nursing assistance to GPs and other members of the healthcare team

      • Clinical safety checks monitoring and maintaining clinical equipment, carrying out drug checks, ensuring the resuscitation trolley and anaphylaxis kits are always ready and safe to use and stock ordering.
