      Davenport House Surgery is seeking to add a Practice Nurse with Primary Care experience to our close-knit, forward-thinking team.       We are ideally looking for a Practice Nurse with Primary Care experience. However, we are open to training the right candidate who has a strong interest in Practice Nursing.

      Main duties of the job

      • Your duties will include but are not limited to the following Undertake cytology and action results appropriately
      • Routine acute wound care
      • Care of chronic wounds, pressure and leg ulcers
      • Removal of Sutures/Staples
      • Urinalysis for both acute and chronic conditions
      • Travel planning
      • ECGs both acute and routine as required
      • Phlebotomy
      • Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes)
      • Hypertension Management 24hr Blood Pressure Monitoring and blood pressure checks in clinic
      • Ear syringing
      • Adult immunisations
      • Childhood immunisations
      • Prepare and send samples for lab testing
      • Chaperoning or assisting another clinician as requested

      About us

      We are an established surgery, providing care for approximately 13,000 patients located in Harpenden. We employ a full range of professional medical and clerical staff and our large, spacious premises enable us to house additional services.

      Based near the high street, close to bus and train station, there are 2 waiting areas available for patients, which provide a comfortable waiting space. The practice building is also served by a lift which provides access the first and second floor of the building. We operate a smoke-free policy.
