      Were looking for a motivated Practice Nurse or Nursing Associateto become part of our welcoming clinical team, which includes 5 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, and 2 GP Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with a passion for chronic disease management, particularly in asthma and COPD (including spirometry testing and interpretation), and complex wound care.

      Were ideally seeking someone to work 24 hours over 3 days, but can offer some flexibility on working days. Based at Bognor Medical Practice, a busy, well-established GP surgery in the heart of town, youll be working just 200 metres from the beach with a diverse and vibrant patient population.

      While previous experience in general practice is desirable, its not essentialwe welcome applications from nurses and nursing associates with strong general clinical skills and a willingness to learn.       Main duties of the job

      Job Responsibilities:

      Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by Lead nurse and GPs.

      Such tasks may include:

      • Basic wound care / ulcer care
      • Removal of Sutures
      • New Patient Medicals
      • Urinalysis
      • ECGs
      • Respiratory / Spirometry testing and interpretation
      • Blood pressure measurements and management
      • Ear syringing
      • Routine immunisations
      • Childhood immunisations
      • Travel immunisations and consultations
      • Injections
      • Cervical smears
      • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
      • HRT
      • Family Planning
      • Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
      • Chronic Disease Management consultations within boundaries of training and competency limitations
      • Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

      Other tasks including:

      • Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
      • Undertake housekeeping duties including, general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
      • Take part in the ordering and monitoring of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
      • Infection Control
      • Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
      • At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
      • A duty to advise Lead nurse /management of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
      • Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
      • Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
