Job summary
A new opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to join our expanding nursing team. You will be involved in the full range of nursing duties including cytology, injections, travel and baby immunisations, chronic disease management and spirometry.

Main duties of the job
Clinical-Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology & deliver the national immunisation & vaccination schedule as well as unscheduled immunisations/vaccinations as per the practice protocols.Provide travel health advice & administer appropriate vaccinations.Treat patients with chronic diseases & manage their care along with other clinicians,in particular patients with respiratory conditions such as COPD/Asthma including carrying out QOF work for these patients.Provide directly & assist GPs with contraceptive services.Advise on health, lifestyle, diet, smoking, alcohol intake & sexual health.Wound management & dressings,Ear Syringing,Venepuncture.Family Planning give general advice and information including pill checks.
Admin-To maintain accurate patient records & enter agreed Read Codes.Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.To collect data & participate in regular Practice audit & research projects.
General-To maintain own annual registration with the NMC & adhere to Code of Professional Conduct.To maintain a safe & therapeutic environment for all staff, patients, carers & co-workers from other agencies.Ensure all statutory regulations are implemented & adhered to.To promote a professional approach at all times by attire & attitude to patients & staff both in & out of the Practice. Attend & participate in staff/Practice meetings & in-house clinical training sessions where necessary.

Health screening ECG monitoring, BP, well person, elderly and new patient assessments
