The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Practice nurse services, including chronic disease management and treatment room care.

The total list size of our practice is 13,000 (and rising) patients, with mixed demographics. There is excellent support from a multi-disciplinary team of Social Prescribers, Pharmacy team and administrators. The computer system is SystmOne

The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of the Practice.
Job Responsibilities: Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior staff and GPs
Chronic disease management (COPD asthma or diabetes)
Cytology
Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
Removal of Sutures and clips
ECGs
Venepuncture
Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations and managing recall systems
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
Administer Injections like B12, Depo, Nebido, Clexane, Zoladex, Pneumonia, Shingles, RSV & Flu
Other tasks will include
Check GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
Checking emergency equipment and fridge temp
Responsible for Drug Box, First aid box and oxygen.
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
A duty to advise senior staff of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
Attend any training as required and participate in Nurse Meetings, clinical meetings Practice Meeting.
