What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Seek out and track grants that fund healthcare-related research activities and programs within the organization
- Develop budgets and administrative application components for healthcare research-related projects
- Ensure compliance with funding agency requirements for application formatting and submission
- Submit applications for funding agency review and follow through with funding decisions
- Enter proposals into the PeopleSoft Grants software system for approvals and tracking
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related (accounting, finance) or science-related (biology, pre-med) field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant writing, technical review of grant applications, or medical research budget development
- CITI Certification must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and time management skills, with the ability to produce accurate work under strict deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of NIH and other funding agency pre-award requirements and guidelines
- An advanced degree may substitute for years of experience
- Demonstrated flexibility and service orientation
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
