      The Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for you, a motivated and inspirational midwife, to join our Maternity Department as a Band 5 Preceptorship Midwife , with plenty of opportunities to rotate in different departments:

      - Delivery Suite

      - Birth Centre

      - Antenatal and Postnatal Wards

      It is an exciting opportunity to utilise and develop your midwifery skills across low and high-risk settings, as well as gain relevant experience including an Obstetric led (but Midwifery influenced) Delivery Suite with the very popular Midwifery Led Birth Centre. We are able to offer hydrotherapy and water birth where clinically appropriate throughout all of our departments.

      We also offer a comprehensive preceptorship package with a dedicated team to support you.

      *All candidates applying for Preceptorship Midwife post will be considered for fixed term (provisionally 12 months), converted into permanent position as soon as Preceptorship programme is completed.*

      Main duties of the job

      Preceptorship Midwife

      The post holder will practice as a Midwife within the maternity services in The Homerton Healthcare NHS Trust working all shift patterns, weekends, and bank holidays included.The post holder will work in Delivery Suite, birth centre, antenatal and postnatal wards. This post is a transition post from training to practice, which will enable the post holder to obtain the required experience in clinical midwifery practice to successfully achieve the required competences that are essential to move through to a Band 6 role.In order to support this transition, the post holder will be supported through a ten to twelve-month preceptorship programme by experienced midwives in each location.
