Job Description

- Responsible for ensuring that Agency Bill is handled in an efficient manner including transacting client premiums
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Responds to Account Manager/Company inquiries
- Requests company refunds and documents files accordingly
- Reconciles carrier statements, researches and corrects discrepancies
- Ensures Agency Bill is paid by due date in accordance with Agency practices through company payment platforms, Agency Checks and ACH
- Maintains Activities, files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Creates and maintains correspondence for disputes, revisions, overpayments and all exceptions between client transactions and company payable invoice/statement through Activity management
- Immediate attention to Agency Bill audits
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years finance and accounting experience
- Applied Epic and insurance accounting knowledge is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures reflective of the financial service industry
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Outlook Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of rules and regulations associated with HIPAA
- Must be detail oriented, organized and able to meet deadlines
- Advanced interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication
- Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and be team oriented

RESPONSIBILITIESThe Premium Accountant plays a vital role in the day-to-day management of payments to insurance brokers and carriers in an accurate and timely manner.
