- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items according to recipes and menu requirements
- Assist cooks and chefs in preparing and plating meals for residents
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, prep areas, and equipment
- Properly label and store food items to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Follow all food safety regulations and company policies
- Help with receiving and storing deliveries and rotating stock
- Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Chef or Food Service Manager
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting strongly preferred
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional in demeanor
- ServSafe certification is a plus
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Work involves exposure to hot equipment, cleaning chemicals, and various food allergens
- Schedule may include weekends and holidays

The Prep Cook supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients and assisting with basic food preparation to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented meals in a timely manner.
