      Responsibilities

      • Trustbridge Hospice Foundation is a member of Empath Health, Inc.
      • The President of Trustbridge Hospice Foundation (TBF) is a senior leader within Empath Health’s Philanthropy Division, reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
      • This role is responsible for driving a comprehensive fundraising strategy across Palm Beach and Broward Counties, including annual, major, and planned giving, capital campaigns, and institutional support.
      • In collaboration with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, Foundation staff, board members, and community volunteers, the President will lead efforts to grow philanthropic revenue through a relationship-based approach to donor engagement.
      • This includes guiding strategic moves management to identify, cultivate, solicit, steward, and upgrade donors in support of both local and systemwide priorities.
      • As the chief ambassador and fundraiser for the Foundation, the President will engage high level individual donors, corporate partners, and grant-making organizations to secure transformative support.
      • The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in nonprofit development, strategic leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing compassionate care through philanthropy.
      • Provide executive leadership and day-to-day management of all Foundation operations, ensuring financial accountability, high-performance team development, and achievement of annual revenue and strategic goals.
      • Develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets, campaign plans, and departmental performance metrics.
      • Lead a cross-functional team of more than 20 colleagues, including direct oversight of philanthropy officers, donor relations, resale, and support services.
      • Maintain and grow a personal portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects with an individual revenue goal, $1M+
      • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, leveraging moves management best practices.
      • Lead a robust planned giving program, resulting in new bequests, trusts, and other legacy commitments annually.
      • Partner with professional advisors and donors to secure complex and blended gifts, including charitable trusts, annuities, and real estate contributions.
      • Oversee the development and execution of a multi-faceted annual giving program, including memorial retention, primary caregiver outreach, grateful family initiatives, and seasonal appeals.
      • Implement comprehensive donor stewardship and recognition strategy for all donor levels—annual, major, capital, corporate, and planned.
      • Lead planning and execution of capital, endowment, and targeted campaigns to advance strategic mission priorities.
      • Provide leadership for institutional funding efforts, including federal, state, and private foundation grants, ensuring compliance and reporting for large-scale proposals and audit-level awards.
      • Collaborate with program and system leaders to develop compelling cases for support aligned with organizational priorities.Serve as lead liaison to the Trustbridge Hospice Foundation Board of Directors, supporting governance, sub-committees, recruitment, engagement, and performance.
      • Inspire and guide Board members, volunteers, and colleagues in donor engagement, cultivation, and solicitation activities.
      • Support Empath Health enterprise-wide initiatives by collaborating with fellow Foundation presidents and the Chief Philanthropy Officer on shared campaigns and strategies.
      • Oversee donor database integrity, gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting for a database of more than 250,000 records.
      • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of donor engagement, moves management activity, and fundraising performance.
      • Serve as a visible ambassador for the Foundation and Empath Health at key events, donor gatherings, and community outreach engagements.
      • Perform additional duties as assigned in service to the Foundation’s mission and organizational success
      • Oversee the operations, leasing, and administration of three Trustbridge Foundation resale stores, ensuring alignment with mission and revenue goals.

      Qualifications

      Education and Credentials

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required; master’s degree preferred.
      • CFRE certification required; CFRM credential or equivalent advanced fundraising training strongly preferred.
      • A combination of equivalent education and leadership experience in philanthropy will be considered.

      Fundraising Leadership

      • 12–15+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with a demonstrated track record of securing major and principal gifts of $1M+ and achieving $10M+ in annual philanthropic revenue
      • Expertise in all facets of fundraising, including annual, major, planned, capital, and endowment campaigns.
      • Demonstrated experience managing complex donor portfolios, including 50 high-net-worth individuals and oversight of planned giving portfolios of 75–100 qualified prospects.
      • Advanced proficiency in planned giving strategies, gift vehicles (e.g., bequests, trusts, annuities, real estate), and knowledge of charitable tax implications.

      Strategic and Operational Expertise

      • Proven experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and overseeing high-performing teams; directly supervises 5+ and leads overall team of 20+ colleagues.
      • Demonstrated success in leading comprehensive campaigns, integrating fundraising across departments, and aligning goals with organizational strategy.
      • Strong analytical and financial management skills, with fluency in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and endowment oversight.
      • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation in nonprofit fundraising.

      Organizational and System Engagement

      • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in nonprofit governance and board engagement, with the ability to inspire and mobilize volunteers, committees, and community leaders.
      • Comfortable navigating and influencing within a complex healthcare system; able to effectively collaborate with clinicians, executive leaders, and regional and systemwide partners.
      • Experience overseeing retail or resale store operations (e.g., leases, merchandising, community engagement) is preferred.

      Technical Proficiency

      • Skilled in the use of donor management systems (preferably Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
      • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create compelling proposals, donor communications, case statements, and grant materials.
      • Experience with contract negotiation, legal gift instruments, and estate planning discussions preferred.
