      Belmark is currently seeking a Press Operator in Phoenix, AZ to run our world class equipment to produce a high quality product in a timely fashion for our customers. This position works on our 2nd shift rotation.

      Schedule:

      • 2nd Shift
      • 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday - Thursday

      Principle Duties & Responsibilities

      1. Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
      2. Responsible for complying with and following all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
      3. Perform all job tasks utilizing required personal protective equipment and correct safety procedures.
      4. Maintain quality, productivity and waste according to set standards.
      5. Ensure product print impression and registration.
      6. Maintain inks.
      7. Ensure proper anilox, tensions, die cut and stripping on each job.
      8. Web the press.
      9. Calculate the machine count.
      10. Clean the press.
      11. Will have job duties specific to our Hazardous Waste Management Program for the proper disposal of spent solvents, waste inks and other designated waste products. Some of the responsibilities include the placement of waste solvents/inks in designated waste drums, labeling of waste drums and moving waste drums to designated storage locations.
      12. Install doctor blades.
      13. Install cylinder and dies.
      14. Perform routine press maintenance.
      15. Keep work area and machine organized and clean.
      16. Complete necessary paperwork.
      17. May mix inks.
      18. May mount plates on cylinder.
      19. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

      1. Requires at least six (6) months experience setting up, operating and cleaning up a narrow web press.
      2. Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
      3. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
      4. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime.
      5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
      6. Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
      7. Requires education equivalent to two (2) years of high school.
      8. Ability to meet deadlines.
      9. Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
      10. Ability to: stand and walk for 90% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 10% of work time.
      11. Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distances and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
      12. Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
      13. Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 25% of work time; 25 pounds or less 30% of work time; 50 pounds or less 25% of work time; and may lift 100 pounds or less 5% of work time. (Example: lifting roll of material on and off the press approximately 6 ft.)
      14. May lift 100 pounds or more.
      15. May be required to use sense of smell.
