- Lead and coordinate the work of the Latinx King County Dream Coalition in collaboration with coalition members, youth, parents, funders and community partners to achieve coalition mission and meet program goals.
- Coordinate prevention activities such as health fairs, parent and youth presentations, youth prevention clubs, media campaigns and policy change efforts.
- Build community capacity through trainings, youth leadership development and parent engagement activities, community forums and meetings with local leaders and policy makers.
- Guide the coalition to annually conduct a needs assessment and develop and implement a comprehensive action plan.
- Coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and committees and communicate effectively with members and community partners.
- Participate in required funder and agency meetings and trainings.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers, interns, contract facilitators and other staff as appropriate to assure quality of program.
- Support and empower coalition members to recruit, train and retain coalition members to form a strong and consistent Latinx Prevention Coalition in King County representing 12 sectors.
- Collaborate with other local, regional or state coalitions, service providers and partners to strengthen local efforts.
- Collaborate with coalition leadership, health and education partners, local businesses, community-based organizations, and the media to promote coalition’s mission and goals.
- Report on coalition effectiveness, activities, achievements and challenges.
- Maintain coalition documentation, including agendas, minutes, event attendance, membership lists, receipts/invoices, bylaws and other documents.
- Maintain and develop communications tools such as websites, social media, email lists, newsletters and flyers.
- Provide information for development of program budget; monitor expenses.
- Assist with identification and acquisition of donations and financial support.
- Ensure implementation of policies adopted by the Coalition, Neighborhood House, and program funders as appropriate.
- Ensure that sound health and safety measures are practiced in all activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of two years of work experience (professional and/or volunteer) in leading people to create community change, program coordination, community-based programs involving youth, drug/alcohol/tobacco prevention, or other related work.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Possess knowledge of the Latinx communities and community-based groups in King County.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a culturally diverse workplace dedicated to equity and inclusion.

- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, public speaking and training skills, group and meeting facilitation skills, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter who learns new concepts quickly, with proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Able to creatively solve problems.
- Ability to travel around King County for meetings and events.
- Willing to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours with occasional out of area conferences.
- Willingness to comply with established agency policies and performance standards, which may include productivity/personal responsibility, client/customer services, teamwork and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Experience working effectively with schools and community based organizations.
- Ability to work with or learn Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills.
- Public relations, communications and/or marketing skills.
- Experience in public health, coalition organizing, drug and alcohol prevention, environmental prevention strategies, youth development, program planning implementation and evaluation, policy change, or community mobilization.
- Experience implementing evidence-based prevention programs.
- Experience supervising and supporting other staff or volunteers.
- Must pass Neighborhood House background check requirements.
- Department of Early Learning portable background check
- Position requires Washington State bi-annual criminal background re-check.
- Current First Aid Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Current CPR Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Sexual Harassment Training within 30 days of hire.
- Child Abuse and Neglect training (within 2 weeks of hire).

Job Summary
The Latinx Dream Coalition Prevention Coordinator will report to the Youth and Family Service Manager and will join our highly motivated and creative prevention team to lead community based substance misuse prevention, and mental health promotion initiatives focusing on Latinx youth, young adults and parents in Seattle and South King County.
We are seeking a fluent Spanish speaker who is familiar with the Latinx communities in King County and who is passionate about engaging immigrant and refugee families to make positive healthy choices.
The Coordinator will provide general oversight of prevention activities serving the Latinx community in King County, including needs and resource assessments, program planning and implementation, evaluating and reporting. The coordinator will support the coalition to recruit, train and support coalition members, organize monthly coalition meetings and committee meetings, conduct a needs/resources assessment, then identify and implement strategies that lead to increased health and sustainable, lasting reductions in substance use/misuse among Latinx youth in King County.
