Collaborates with the Clinical Manager in the selection, evaluation, promotion, resolution of employee relations/disciplinary concerns, and the termination of employees
Provides clinical supervision and personnel management to Master’s level clinicians including managing clinical challenges, training (including clinical workflows and EHR), overseeing daily activities, mentoring, guiding through demonstration of best practices, and offering opportunities for professional development
Reviews routine performance metrics for individual providers (e.g. panel size, schedule utilization, show rates, productivity goals, and other key indicators) and shares metrics with individual providers and provide feedback and mentorship as needed
Ensures appropriate clinical supervision for staff by clinical licensure
Ensures consistent support of clinical team including consultation on cases, collaboration and implementation of clinical therapeutic guidelines (visit frequency, length of treatment, etc.) and use of patient outcome measures to inform ongoing clinical care
Ensures appropriate standards of care for patients in crisis and assists clinical team in response to crisis situations
Maintains competency in areas of responsibility to ensure quality care
Maintains a complete understanding of emergency procedures
Assists with performance management issues with the Clinical Manager as needed
Assists with quality improvement initiatives to improve the delivery of high quality, patient-centered, accessible clinical care, as appropriate
Collaborates with Psychiatry clinical and administrative leadership regarding standards for professional practice, patient care, and innovative programs designed to facilitate high quality patient care
Submits department statistics and other records and reports within required time frames
Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service education program offerings with punctuality and consistency
Responds to requests from administrative and clinical staff for onsite crisis interventions
Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and develops treatment plans based on patient needs/goals.
Provides individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy to patient and/or family to reduce the impact of identified problems to achieve improved functioning and emotional state.
Identifies need to involve patient’s family through the initial assessment process and engages the family in treatment planning, if indicated.
Consults and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure that the overall health needs of patients are addressed.
Provides risk assessment and intervention as necessary. When indicated, refers to and coordinates with appropriate emergency services.
Documents each patient encounter in the medical record and complies with departmental, regulatory and professional requirements for documentation recording and data collection.

Advanced interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and leadership; has demonstrated strength in personnel management

Knowledge of and competence in advocating with community resources and agencies that serve individuals, children, and families who are low-income or have psychiatric needs.
Bicultural/bilingual competency is a plus.
Experience with and comfort treating substance use disorders is preferred
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Computer literacy with ability to use standard word processing, spreadsheet programs, and e-mail (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Supervisor oversees and supervises Master’s level clinicians who are responsible for evaluating, treating, and providing behavioral health services for patients of BMC Department of Psychiatry. Responsibilities will include: overseeing daily onsite clinical activities, providing regular clinical and programmatic supervision to clinicians, providing clinical back-up and support to the teams as needed; performance management of Master’s level clinicians; payroll and timekeeping for program staff; and reviewing cases and documentation to ensure staff are compliant with approved protocols and procedures. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor also provides direct clinical care through individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy using an anti-oppression and health equity lens. The position consults with, collaborates, and communicates with a wide range of disciplines within BMC and the community in the overall care of the patient.

JOB REQUIREMENTS- Min of 4 days on site per week
EDUCATION:
Requires Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work or school of Mental Health Counseling or related field as determined by the Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Requires a current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or LMHC
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum three years of full-time work experience as a licensed social worker. Previous supervisory experience required.
