      We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster, a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire. Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

      In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

      Hours

      Monday to Sunday

      07.00 - 20.30

      10 - 22.30

      19.00 - 07.30

      You will be expected to work a mixture of shifts, including a maximum of 2 weekends per month.

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
      • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
      • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
      • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients.
      • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
      • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.

      Qualification & Experience required:

      • Registered nurse Adult
      • Current professional qualification (NMC)
      • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
      • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
      • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
      • Excellent communication skills

      Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
