- Evaluates the performance of the staff and assists teachers in improving their professional competencies in order to improve instruction.
- Supports and contributes to the cooperative development of a district-wide curriculum structure and a district-wide instructional system by coordinating efforts with that of other administrators and schools within the district.
- Interprets the curriculum, reviews the program, and presents a framework for the total school program to the staff in order to emphasize areas of strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provides administrators and supervisory leadership to the staff by planning and cooperatively establishing short and long term goals for the school. Assigns priorities to staff and program development as required.
- Makes recommendations for staff including selection of personnel, teacher assignments, staff development, evaluation procedures, and supplementary contracts.
- Maintains appropriate student discipline by supervising and supporting the efforts of the instructional and support staff.
- Communicates to parents and the community the school’s programs, goals, accomplishments, needs, and the noteworthy accomplishments of students and staff.
- Involves, where appropriate, parents and the community in decisions regarding school programs.
- Establishes, with due consideration of advice from staff members, priorities for personnel and for materials to meet the program needs of teachers, students, and support areas. Generates budget recommendations and operates within the approved budget. Ensures proper use of supplies, equipment and facilities.
- Serves as a member of the district leadership team in the study of administrative and educational concerns and in the development of recommendations for their solution.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities which are inherent for the successful functioning of the school and those assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

Spring-Ford Area School District is actively recruiting a Principal for the 9th Grade Center to provide leadership and service resulting in the best education possible for students within the school.
The Senior High 9th Grade Center Principal is the chief administrator and instructional leader of the 9th Grade Center and is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, supervising, and managing the 9th Grade Center program in accordance with the policies of the school district. The 9th Grade Center Principal exercises a high degree of initiative and professional judgment in developing and accomplishing the educational objectives. Furthermore, the 9th Grade Center Principal is responsible for promoting and fostering a caring and friendly atmosphere within the school while being sensitive to uphold the rules and regulations of the school district. The9th Grade Center Principal also has responsibility for the building budget and the operation, maintenance, and security of the school facilities.

Position Specifications:Certification: Valid and active PA 7-12 Secondary Principal Certificate or K-12 Principal Certificate.
Compensation:
Salary: $152,500.00 - $170,000.00 based on experience. Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program.
