- Drive and champion the airline’s brand strategy and visual identity across channels, with a focus on United’s brand environments, sensory, and customer experience.
- Provide the vital brand strategy inputs to partners throughout the project lifecycle and ensure the delivery of a consistent brand standard throughout the experience. Provide excellent customer service to collaborators and groups by demonstrating marketing leadership, promoting collaboration, and fostering a team environment.
- Lead brand naming initiatives with partners, continuing to socialize the internal naming guidance framework while building strong relationships with partners.
- Drive adoption and education of the brand evolution, including regular presentations to leadership and key contacts across the company, building resources to support change management, and working extensively with cross-functional partners.
- End-to-end project manage various complex projects that involve the brand for internal and external clients as needed. This includes managing and conducting qualitative and quantitative customer and market research related to brand and presenting results to leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Design, Brand, Marketing, or related field)
- 3+ years marketing, branding, or design agency experience
- 3+ years project management experience leading large-scale cross-functional projects
- Strong airline or travel industry business acumen
- Demonstrated knowledge of branding and design thinking principles
- Technical knowledge and expertise to drive product design and branded customer experience
- Strong knowledge of design principles and creative process
- Project management leadership and cross-functional collaboration
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Skilled communicator (verbal and written), including strong presentation design and delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Knowledge of graphic design principles, creative production processes, interior or architectural design experience

Key Responsibilities:
The Principal - Brand champions the United brand by managing the integrity of the brand across multiple channels, driving the brand evolution roadmap and adoption, preserving consistent application of brand principles, and thinking strategically about the application of brand strategy and design through high-profile projects and initiatives. This position will build and support relationships to deliver a consistent experience. This role will need to think strategically about United’s visual identity and brand strategy, and how United can continue to differentiate itself in the marketplace. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, and high energy in being a steward for the new United brand across all customer touch points.
Note: This is a Chicago-based, hybrid role.
