Description
As Principal of Cloud Engineer, you will leverage your knowledge of the cloud to develop innovative solutions. Working with a team of highly-skilled engineers, you will be encouraged to think outside of the box to develop reliable cloud-based infrastructure.
The Principal Cloud Engineer will be responsible for:
· Applying cloud-engineering best practices to brainstorm cloud-based solutions; leveraging past experience to gage feasibility.
· Working to maintain project vision and design during all phases of the development process; ensuring agility throughout development process.
· Offering continuous technical guidance and support to stakeholder while implementing new cloud-based solutions; leading and participating in training sessions with stakeholders.
· Monitoring key metrics necessary to monitor the performance of overall operations i.e. capacity, availability, integrity and cost-efficiency.
· Offering support to colleagues and stakeholder during scheduled maintenance windows and project timeframes; protecting the workflow of the organization while key systems are temporarily unavailable.
· Participating in knowledge sharing sessions; offering relevant cloud engineering expertise to cross-functional teams; participating in code and design reviews.
· Ensuring the security of all cloud-based solutions; collaborating with cyber security and software engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
· 7+ years of working experience with cloud engineering; developing cloud solutions; cloud architecture
· 2+ years of working experience with managing engineering personnel
· Experience developing and implementing cloud adoption plans and cloud application design
Desired Qualifications
· Experience working in the financial services industry; understanding of the role of custodial and consumer banks; experience managing sensitive financial data
· Experience with: VMware, vSAN, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, NSX, SDN, etc.
· Experience working in an agile development environment
· Working experience with cyber security; cyber security coursework, experience or certifications
· Experience with infrastructure architecture; cloud-applications to infrastructure
Education and Certifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
