- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
- Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
- Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
- 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 7+ years of Proven experience in software development, with a focus on Cloud applications
- 5+ years of Solid understanding of cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and API integrations
- 5+ years of Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior engineers.
- 3+ years of experience with one or more CI/CD and Automation tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gradle, Maven, MSBuild, NPM, SonarQube, Artifactory, Harness CD & GitOps, IBM uDeploy, Ansible
- 5+ years of Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries
- Cloud certified with Hands-on knowledge of Google/Azure Cloud
- Hands-on experience in Kafka, Apache Beam, Spark, Java, Spring, Microservices, APIs, Analytics, Machine learning, Python, Batch and Realtime Data processing.
- Understanding of tools and technologies like PowerBI, Talend, Ab-initio, Informatica, Collibra, Autosys, Tableau, Hadoop, Teradata, Hive, Oracle, Mongo DB, SQL server.
- Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Experience in harnessing the power of Cloud to create cutting edge solutions that push the boundaries of innovation
- Working experience in designing, architecting applications for deployment into one or more cloud (GCP, Azure) environments
- Ability to travel up to 10%

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to be part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Data & Analytics team. The CTO Data & Analytics team provides executive insights, operational, and advanced analytics across Wells Fargo Technology. Our strategy focuses on building fully automated solutions that provide a wide range of interactive visualizations from a multitude of data sources to examine metrics, risks, trends, and overall performance, and enable predictive and contextual business intelligence, to include development and utilization of AI and ML, for optimization and proactive management.
This Principal Engineer will work with Technology Product Owners, other principal engineers, and applications teams to identify and implement solutions that advance our strategy. As a key engineering leader, you will also collaborate with Wells Fargo Technology key stakeholders to assess product gaps and ensure identification and delivery of product offerings that achieve desired business value, key outcomes, and enable continued adoption. You will mentor and guide a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high-quality deliverables. You will also conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards to ensure the highest level of software craftsmanship. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) by meticulously integrating performance, security, and scalability considerations into the design and implementation of software solutions and act as a key transformation agent to help the team learn and develop CI/CD capabilities and advance the team through a defined CI/CD maturity model.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00Benefits
