      About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Engineer in Platform Engineering — not just to write infrastructure, but to shape how it’s done. You’ll help lead the evolution of our internal control plane, built through innersource collaboration and grounded in GitOps practices. Think: operators over scripts, declarative over imperative, product thinking over platforms-as-support.

You’ll work across complex environments where modern engineering meets legacy reality — applying cloud-native patterns, operator-driven automation, and policy-as-code to bring clarity and control to scale. You’ll influence architectural direction, mentor others through code and example, and contribute to a culture where infrastructure is not just stable — it’s elegant.

This is your chance to leave a mark — not just on the tech, but on how engineers think about and interact with infrastructure.

If you’re someone who’s built platforms, shaped teams, and believes engineering should feel joyful and powerful — this is that role.

      The day-to-day includes

      • Driving the transformation of high-impact systems from traditional infrastructure delivery toward a declarative, GitOps-powered control plane — built to scale, built to last
      • Creating secure, scalable platform foundations that offer engineers a golden path — safe by default, intuitive to use, and designed to accelerate delivery
      • Architecting platform solutions across legacy constraints and greenfield opportunity — with pragmatism and boldness where it counts
      • Embedding automation-first thinking and policy-as-code into how infrastructure is defined, governed, and evolved
      • Championing innersource as a way to scale contribution, build trust, and unlock collective ownership of platform capabilities
      • Collaborating deeply with teams to uplift engineering velocity, reliability, and experience — without compromising on control
      • Mentoring through action — leading by design, code, and conversation
      • Defining and shaping the standards that set the bar for modern platform engineering

What makes you a great fit?

      • You’ve built scalable control planes and cloud-native platforms that last
      • You’re fluent in Kubernetes, containers, GitOps, GoLang, Python — and know when not to over-engineer
      • You’re fluent in AWS and have applied the Well-Architected Framework to build secure, reliable, and cost-effective systems
      • You’re well-versed in managing risk across the cloud landscape — designing for velocity without compromising control
      • You stay close to innovation — keeping pace with emerging technologies, including the latest in AI and platform automation
      • You’re a systems thinker — solving root causes, not symptoms
      • You lead through influence — clear in thinking, courageous in decisions
      • You collaborate deeply — connected to the team, the mission, and the customer
      • You deliver with intent — capable of cutting through complexity with practical solutions
      • You care about developer experience — safe by default, fast to use, built with empathy
      • You know great platforms are shaped as much by culture as they are by code
