      Job Description

      SUMMARY:

      Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs the Principal for Academic Affairs Integrations supports a three-year program of work to integrate Bloomfield College into University processes and systems, migrate from Ellucian Banner to Workday Student and implement improved operational processes and procedures for academic affairs and its related units across campus. This three-year position assists in leading various initiatives and actions related to the program, across multiple functional areas, and plays a key role in decision-making processes.

      The Principal for Academic Affairs Integrations works closely with leadership within and across Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Student Development and Campus Life and other relevant campus stakeholders to implement new and/or modify academic policies, processes and procedures as needed. This position assists the Associate and Assistant Provosts, Deans and as well as other assigned functional leads in the management of areas such as accreditation, assessment, curriculum, advising, undergraduate education focal points, faculty affairs and development, institutional effectiveness, special programs for underserved populations, and more. Other areas that may require integration include international academic endeavors, Hispanic serving academic initiatives, community college work, and follow up on forthcoming recommendations from two university wide task forces (student success; global reach). Important intersecting areas for integration may involve institutional research and effectiveness, space management, budget and finance.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

      • Document program issues, risks, and decisions in the six priority academic affairs areas currently identified for integration: accreditation, assessment, curriculum, faculty affairs, special programs, and academic student support services; engage relevant stakeholders in risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies.
      • Coordinate Academic Affairs communications and training needs for the integration of Bloomfield College and emerging workday student work.
      • Contribute to the development of program project plans and resource needs for the areas.
      • Identify areas for collaboration and cross-functional work, aiming for economies of scale, scope and learning.
      • Prepare status reports for the Bloomfield Integration Academic Affairs workstream.
      • Participate in the development of Bloomfield College academic offerings, make timely program decisions and escalate to the Provost as needed.
      • Identify the need for new academic policies and update existing academic policies as needed. Work with the Provost team (e.g., Associate and Assistant Provosts) and Deans to offer vision and guide the direction of new program development through all stages of internal and external review, including State registration.
      • Participate in the Business Process Analysis project(s) to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains before, during, and after the program implementation.
      • Actively participate in process redesign activities to ensure a streamlined process that achieves business goals.
      • Create and prepare relevant reports and materials for maintenance of University accreditations, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and in the coordination and tracking of the Middle States self-study initiative.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS :

      REQUIRED :

      • An earned doctorate from an accredited university.
      • Minimum of five years of professional experience designing, providing high level leadership and/or implementing an institutional strategic plan and policies, or equivalent.
      • Record of administrative success in higher education within a key position (e.g., department chair, dean’s office, center director).
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Commitment to diversity and inclusion, with experience and supporting said commitment
      • Collaborative, facilitative leadership style, and successful work developing and working with cross-unit teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a strong ability to lead adaptability and flexibility

      PREFERRED :

      • Experience with new technology and data tool implementations and uptake (e.g., student success Navigate, HelioCampus)
      • Demonstrated experience leading new academic offerings (e.g., degree and certificate programs to micro credentials and workforce certifications)
      • Experience in engaging and supporting faculty involvement in related projects.
      • Knowledge and experience developing programs to support academic affairs staff talent
      • Demonstrated ability to assess and re-design organizational structures for maximum effectiveness.
      • Experience as a faculty member.
