      Job Description

      The Role

      We are looking for a Principal Geometallurgy – Metals and MVCR who advances the development and implementation of geometallurgical practices, ensuring that decisions at every stage of the planning and operational process are informed by robust data and scientific evidence. The role will focus primarily on our metalliferous assets as well as Mine Value Chain Reconciliation (MVCR) globally.

      This role can be based in UK, South Africa, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Chile or Peru.

      Key role requirements:

      • Engage with stakeholders to capture and respond to customer needs, ensuring that our geometallurgical strategies reflect the voice of the customer.
      • Design and implement data-to-decision workflows and include advanced rock characterisation, geological modelling, and estimations, tailored to support the strategic objectives of metalliferous deposits.
      • Integrate data acquisition seamlessly with mine activity designs, aiming to maximise resource utilisation, streamline process variability and reduce uncertainty.
      • Oversee the synthesis of 3D environments and integrated geometallurgical models that underpin operational planning from resource development through to Value Based Ore Control (VBOC).
      • Manage contractor relationships diligently, setting benchmarks, and driving performance to surpass both operational and strategic goals.
      • Ensure Mine Value Chain Reconciliation processes exist for geometallurgical work programmes across the portfolio, upholding stringent data quality protocols and spearheading interdisciplinary cooperation to scrutinise and respond to essential insights.

      Qualifications

      Formal Qualifications

      An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Geoscience or Metallurgy.

      Technical skills / knowledge requirements:

      • Sound understanding of metalliferous processing technology and practices, including innovations such as CPR.
      • Expert understanding of operational aspects relevant to geometallurgy – rock characterization, geological setting, ore control, mining process, planning, processing.
      • Exposure to multiple operations particularly with respect to rock characterization, mining and processing
      • Knowledge and track record of compliance to relevant Policies and Standards.
      • Understanding of contract development and contractor management. Exposure to developing and managing budgets.
      • Proficient understanding of supply chain processes related to contract management, budget management.
      • Proficient understanding of relevant safety requirements alongside demonstrated safety leadership.
