Job Description

- Defines long term strategy for the Alaska Air Group fuel quality inspection program in line with IFQP and company standards.
- Develop and maintain long term strategy for the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air IFQP inspection schedule.
- As the lead subject matter expert, perform required inspections at all Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air fuel Into-Plane providers and Fuel Storage facilities in accordance with established IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) and ATA 103 standards.
- Share discrepancies (findings) with all IFQP members through the IATA Fuel Quality Pool System (FQPS).
- Exercises considerable latitude and initiative to understand and manage processes defined in the IFQP Multilateral Agreement and ATA 103 fuel quality standards.
- Acts as the IFQP Airline Master/Deputy Master and point of contact (POC) for Alaska Air Group.
- Represent Alaska Air Group as a voting member in the Airline for America (A4A) organization.
- Influences across company and several levels up to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Maintenance and Engineering, fueling vendors, and Supply Chain Management’s Fuel Operations department to share findings for improvements and to ensure the safety of Alaska Air Group’s fuel quality inspection program.
- Utilizes Safety Management System (SMS) and remains current in the training requirements for SMS.
- 7 years of airline industry fuel auditing experience or related area.
- Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Current training as an IATA Fuel Quality Pool Inspector.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Detailed oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.
- Frequent travel is required, including international travel.
- A valid passport at the time of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid FAA Certification (A&P, Powerplant or Repairman).
- Thorough understanding of the ATA 103 standard.
- Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E) Level III or IV evaluator
- Chair of the Fuel Technical Committee for C.A.S.E

Role Summary
The Principal IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) Inspector role is the sole subject matter expert in conducting onsite surveillance of fuel storage facilities, into-plane refueling processes and procedures, and refueling vehicles at stations where Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air aircraft are fueled. As an individual contributor, this role defines long term strategy for the Alaska Air Group fuel quality inspection program.

Pay Details
Geo 1: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00
Geo 2: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
Geo 3: $129,300.00 - $194,000.00
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
