As part of our NovoFlex hybrid policy, this role requires in-office presence in Portsmouth, NH at least three times per week.
Novocure is pioneering cancer treatment through Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) and is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of advanced medical devices. This is a high-impact, strategic role for a hands-on engineer with strong technical and leadership skills. You’ll collaborate across global teams, including vendors in the US and UK, and work closely with our Israeli R&D group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead mechanical design for multidisciplinary, portable medical devices
• Drive projects from concept through manufacturing and regulatory approval
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external industrial designers
• Own thermal management, plastics, mechanisms, and electro-mechanical integration
• Perform hands-on validation, testing, and risk mitigation
• Guide product decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure design complianceWhat You Bring:
• BSc in Mechanical Engineering (MSc preferred)
• 10+ years of mechanical design experience in medical or highly regulated industries
• Expertise in plastic part design, thermal analysis, battery integration, and design for manufacturing
• Strong communicator with diplomatic, culturally aware leadership style
• Experience working independently and across time zones with global teams
