The Product Operations group is looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a critical part of the hardware development and product launch process. We ensure successful fulfillment for product launches and ongoing support, grow the capabilities of our current systems and supply chain to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company.
As an Principal Operations Program Manager, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You'll work closely with a team of engineering, manufacturing and supply chain experts to deliver a world class product at right quantity, cost, and quality to Amazon’s customers. Experience in new product development, contract manufacturing management, cross functional core-team engagement, planning for delivery and working in a high paced environment is a must.
Key job responsibilities
Principal Operations Program Manager (OPM) will work with the leadership team within Product Operations in creating, launching and optimizing operational efficiencies in NPI operations of Consumer Electronic devices. The Principal OPM will engage and work across all functional organizations within operations and applicable areas across Lab 126 and Amazon. Additionally, the Principal OPM will balance a mix of strategic, program level and operational responsibilities in support of Amazon Lab 126’s Product Operations Organization. The individual would have worked in delivering NPI programs in product operations/manufacturing lead role pertaining to Consumer Electronics or similar devices.
Will be:
- Single Threaded Owner (STO) for all aspects of Operational readiness of the program.
- Able to set the forward looking direction and influence strategies to help develop product line roadmap.
- Define and guide decisions on type of Variable Engagement Module (VEM), appropriate for the specific product, customer need and launch schedule.
- Coordinate information flow and able to lead cross functional teams in support of manufacturing/operations.
- Drive alignment of processes and initiatives throughout the Product Operations organization (Technical Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Planning, Supply Chain etc.)
- Bring in and help incorporate industry best practices into Product Operations business.

Sunnyvale, CA, USA• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
• 10+ years of experience in development, manufacturing or supply chain mgmt. in devices (HW/SW)
• 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional projects and programs with tight deadlines
• 10+ years experience in operations, throughout the product life cycle from Concept to EOL
• Experience partnering and leading geographically dispersed and/or ad-hoc teams
• Experience with developing and deploying organizational strategies and goals
• Experience in developing and writing white papers and presenting in executive level meetings
• Ability to travel to Asia up to 25%
• 15+ years experience in SW/HW product development, manufacturing and new product ops environment
• Master’s or higher education in Operations Management, Engineering or an MBA
• Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, building relationships
• Technical aptitude and familiarity with the design and utilization of complex systems
• Proven track record of complex and creative problem solving and the desire to create and build new processes
• Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
• Experience working in various geographic locations
• Published articles, authored or co-authored journal or similar documentation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
