      Position summary

      T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Principal Product Managers, Technical located in Bellevue, WA will serve as Subject Matter Experts on identifying the intersection of customer problems/unmet needs (an opportunity), technical feasibility, business objectives, securing funding, and leading a cross-functional business and technical team, as well as key stakeholders to deliver against the opportunity.

      Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Owns end-to-end product management for complex, cross-platform solutions, including vision and roadmap creation, and technical capabilities.

      • Designs and drives end-user product research, leveraging customer insights and fostering a customer-first mindset.

      • Partners with stakeholders and leadership to understand customer experience, identify opportunities, and advocate for the customer.

      • Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify innovation opportunities and root causes of issues, often collaborating with data scientists.

      • Utilizes rapid hypothesis-driven testing methodologies (e.g., A/B testing, paper prototypes) to inform direction and prioritize investment.

      • Conducts cost-benefit, ROI, and NPV analysis to support decision-making and secure product funding.

      • Anticipates industry trends and incorporates analyses into the product process, maintaining current understanding of tech trends.

      • Communicates and influences at SVP/EVP/C-level and below, including delivering product presentations and managing ad hoc analysis requests.

      • Owns and manages product backlog and priorities, ensuring alignment with business and customer impact, typically serving multiple Agile/Scrum teams.

      • Collaborates with Agile teams to ensure efficient flow of feature and story elaboration activities, including key Agile ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, System Demo).

      • Leads discussions with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

      • Manages and maintains dashboards and reports that track product health and success metrics, and conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

      • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products, collaborating with advertising and public relations to promote the product.

      • Supports sales, marketing, and other stakeholder teams with product or technical knowledge and additional documentation.

      • Assists with the overall execution of the software development process, from strategy and architecture through deployment and support.

      • Anticipates and communicates technical challenges to stakeholders, making educated trade-off decisions with the team.

      • Accountable for product quality and performance in the production environment, including response to critical defects.

      • Manages development of adoption tools and training materials, driving improvements to resolve execution, operational, and organizational issues.

      • Supports and enables core agile practices and tenants, including efficient just-in-time flow, lean practices, and DevOps CICD.

      • Develops positive working relationships with technical and non-technical teams, including sales, marketing, legal, finance, and external partners.

      • Regularly mentors and provides informal coaching to other Product Management staff and team members.

      • Presents at educational workshops, reviews professional publications, establishes personal networks, and participates in professional societies.

      • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week.

      • 10% domestic travel is required to attend quarterly planning ceremonies, team building events across T-Mobile HQ locations, and Technology conferences for continued professional growth.

      Skill requirements:

      • (1) Using Orbit and Planview to plan and track business initiatives and leverage Visio to create technical documentation including data flow diagrams used to build out user acceptance criteria and Jira user stories for the engineering teams to execute on product vision.

      • (2) Partnering with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions and roadmaps and developing initiatives, features, and user stories for DevOps teams using Agile and product management methodologies.

      • (3) Utilizing Splunk, Azure Logging, and Clear Water Triage Tools to check API usage, track end user behavior, and use these data sets to build out joint feature delivery roadmaps between IT and Business Teams.

      • (4) Integrating patterns, APIs, and protocols including REST, EDI, and SOAP to architect HLSD and LLD documents for feature delivery.

      • (5) Utilizing SQL and Tableau analytical solutions including SAS and SPSS to curate and visualize customer insights including analyzing current business reporting for enhancements.

      • (6) Creating, executing, and automating test cases, as well as recording, managing, and driving resolution to defects to ensure data quality and validate requirements were met using Atlassian JIRA and QTest.

      Experience and education requirements:

      PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 7 years of relevant work experience.

      ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

      Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
