      Principal Product Owner

      • Role Type: Temporary (12-months), full-time opportunity with potential extension.
      • Clerk Grade: 11/12 The package includes a base salary range of $ 139,787 to $161,663 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
      • Location: Sydney, We offer flexible work arrangements across NSW.

      As part of the Department of Customer Service’s (DCS) commitment to provide a great customer experience whenever citizens interact with the NSW Government, the Digital Accelerator (DNA) focuses on understanding customer needs using a human centred design approach.
      The Product Owner role sits within the DNA team and is part of an exciting and meaningful project for NSW leading the overall design, implementation and vision for HazardWatch.
      In this role you will be actively ensure the strategic vision of the HazardWatch program. The focus is to ensure that product is appropriately managed throughout the product lifecycle and manage product owner resources. You will do this by working with delivery leads, analysts, service designers and technical experts across the team, and also performing high level stakeholder management.

      To be successful in this role you will have:

      • Demonstrated experience in a high level stakeholder management role.
      • Qualification or certification as a product owner with demonstrated experience managing product lifecycles.
      • Demonstrated superior expertise and a proven record of achievement managing a multidisciplinary team.
      • Demonstrated experience facilitating solutions with stakeholders - building strategic relationships and working with stakeholders to define user needs.
      • Ability to own the product roadmap(s) and set priorities for all Epics, features and user stories in the backlog.
      • Ability to take the outcomes from the research teams to integrate into new and existing products
      • Demonstrated experience looking at how products can evolve along with business commitments, goals and priorities.
      • Ability to set priorities for the product vision among changing initiatives in a complex environment.
      • Demonstrated experience identifying & prioritising product features for development.
      • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to internal stakeholders and partner agencies on the future of the product.
