      Position Specific Description

      Working under the direction of the Executive Director and the Director, the Principal, Regulatory Affairs Analyst & Engagement, will work in cross-functional collaboration with other organization teams to support regulatory and public affairs activities related to company’s interests before and involving regulatory bodies, regional transmission and planning organizations, as well as legislatures and members of the executive branch of state governments in the United States and provinces in Canada.

      The Principal, Regulatory Affairs Analyst & Engagement will be a key member of the team with overall responsibility for NEET regulatory matters including rate cases, filings and open dockets, and public affairs matters, and will work closely with and support the Legal and Regulatory Political Affairs teams in executing regulatory and public affairs strategies consistent with company objectives.

      Job Duties & Responsibilities

      • Research and monitor laws, regulations, regulatory proceedings, as well decisions and orders, by and before regulators, as well as regional transmission and planning organizations, and provide analysis and updates to management through reports, presentations, and meetings.
      • Support highly complex regulatory dockets and matters (e.g., managing project timelines for case preparation and filing, task assignment tracking, assisting team member testimony development, discovery inputs and collaboration, leading effective meetings, etc.).
      • Develop and implement strategic campaign plans related to regulatory and legislative issues facing the company.
      • In close coordination with Regulatory Political Affairs teams, manage retained consultants and lobbyists, ensuring cohesive integration of all involved parties.
      • Aid in the development of coalitions, alliances and engage and coordinate with advocates and third parties in support of regulatory initiatives at the federal, state and local level.
      • Engage elected and appointed officials and stakeholders, and provide testimony before legislative bodies, government agencies, and regional transmission and planning organizations to achieve company objectives.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Previous power utility regulatory, public affairs, advocacy management, strategic communications, and/or government/state affairs experience strongly preferred.
      • Previous experience directly engaging elected and government officials, as well as stakeholders, and providing testimony before legislative bodies and/or government agencies, strongly preferred.

      Location: The position is based in Juno Beach, FL. Travel is required (approximately 30%).

      • Prepares federal and state certification applications and required filings
      • Assists management in the monitoring of state and federal regulatory and legislative development to identify issues affecting company's operations and plans
      • Assists in coordinating the representation of organization's interests before state regulatory and legislative bodies or industry standard setting committees
      • Influences rules and procedures
      • Provides guidance to less experienced regulatory affairs analysts
      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

      • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
