      As a member of the BakerRipley Community Schools team, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking Charter department dedicated to accountability, community development, and education advocacy to advance BakerRipley’s impact in the Houston region.

      Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of School Administration, the Lead Principal is responsible for serving as the lead educational administrator at BakerRipley Community Schools while unifying multiple program levels and providing curricular and instructional leadership to maximize student achievement.

      EXPECTED POSITIVE OUTCOMES
      The principal is the lead instructional leader on the campus and is responsible for all cultural, academic, and enrollment targets. Including but not limited to:

      - Achieve an overall campus rating of an A or B on the TEA accountability system,
      - 95% average daily attendance for the school year,
      - Campus earns 80/50/20 on all STAAR Assessments,
      - 100% fully enrolled campus by the first day of school,
      - 80% of staff retained,
      - Driver of family and community engagement.


      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS .
      • Implements the mission and vision for BakerRipley Community Schools
      • Implements the strategic plan in conjunction with the leadership tea
      • Leads the character development mandates
      • Supports teacher efforts to design and implement activities and programs to promote character development
      • Leads the mandate to ensure a positive school culture with an appropriate distinction of implementation by program level
      • Interacts with school community members to build supportive relationships
      • Facilitates ongoing communication between faculty and administration
      • Fosters communication and collaboration among faculty, staff, parents and students to support school goals; encourages participation from all stakeholders in school programs and activities
      • Fosters a climate of innovation
      • With the staff, facilitates the resolution of any problems that might arise among teachers, students and parents
      • Participates in open enrollment meetings and attends school events as necessary
      • Represents BakerRipley Community Schools and communicates its mission and programs to the school community and to the community at large as well as to the district leadership team and to the agency; attends district meetings on a regular basis
      • Serves as a building administrator for after school events
      • Ensures the development, evaluation, mapping and implementation of the PK-8 curriculum, instruction, and assessment in a manner consistent with BakerRipley Community Schools mission statement
      • Develops, implements and maintains standards and benchmarks for BakerRipley Community Schools PK-8 curriculum
      • Leads vertical teaming initiative throughout the PK-8 program
      • Uses data effectively to monitor and evaluate student progress and lead instructional/curricular improvement
      • Stays current in and demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of effective, research-based practices to improve student achievement
      • As appropriate, oversees and conducts leadership training for teachers and students
      • Leads and supervises direct reports
      • Sets clear, high expectations for all staff
      • Ensures philosophical alignment with direct reports at each level to achieve the mission and objectives of the school
      • Participates in hiring and evaluations for direct reports
      • Serves as an ambassador of BakerRipley
      • Participates in district and charter leadership training and events forums as relevant
      • Other duties as assigned.
